Hello, World

Every blog starts with a post like this one, so let's get it out of the way.

This is a personal blog. I plan to write about software engineering, markets, and the occasional detour into whatever topic has been living in my head rent-free that week. Posts will be irregular — this is a notebook, not a newsletter.

Why write at all?

Three reasons, roughly in order of honesty:

  1. Writing forces clarity. An idea that feels sharp in my head often falls apart the moment I try to explain it in plain sentences. That failure is useful.
  2. Public notes are searchable. Future me is the primary audience here.
  3. Maybe someone else finds it useful. A distant third, but a real one.

What the stack looks like

This site is intentionally boring: a small Astro app with content edited in the browser through Keystatic, served from a single small container. No build pipeline between "save" and "live". If that setup interests you, there will probably be a post about it at some point.

That's it. Welcome.
